Nick Jones

Nick Jones, 68, Augusta, died Monday, Sept. 30, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Wichita.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Augusta, the Rev. W.M. Childress officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Jones was born July 31, 1923, in Billings, Okla., to Martle May (Beach) and Charles DeWitt Jones.
On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Pauline Sebranek in Winfield. She survives.
Jones had been a retail hardware manager. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and
had served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Jones was with the first troops to land in Manila, and he received a purple heart with one oak leaf cluster
and the Phillipine liberation ribbon with two bronze service stars.
Other survivors include a son, Jeffrey A. Jones of Wichita; a daughter, Jeannie Ball of Augusta;
a brother, Duane Jones of Widefield, Colo.; a sister, Juanita Wilson of Gravois Mills, Mo.; six grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Christ Lutheran Church.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangments.

Jennifer Timmons

Jennifer Rae Timmons, 17, of the Retta community near Burleson, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 28,
from injuries suffered from an automobile accident between Mansfield, Texas, and Burleson.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Timmons of Augusta.
Her funeral was today at the Retta Baptist Church with interment following in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
Timmons was born Oct. 9, 1973, in Neodasha to Terry Lee and Sandra Kay Loflin Timmons.
She was a senior at Mansfield (Texas) High School.
Other survivors include her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Terry Lee Timmons of Burleson and
Mr. & Mrs. Bob Kilpatrick of Pasadena, Calif.; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Max Loflin of Neodasha
and Marjorie Johnson of Quapaw, Okla.;
two brothers, Richard Lee Timmons of Burleson and Toby Lane Timmons of Colorado Springs, Colo.;
two sisters, Sharia Jean Herdon of Alvarado, Texas, and Stormy Gail Timmons of Burleson.

Anna B. Wilder

Anna Blanton Wilder, 88, Arlington, died Saturday, Sept. 28. She is the mother of Stella Mathis of Augusta.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Thurdsay afternoon, Oct. 3, at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home in Hutchinson.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the Iola Cemetery at Sparks.
Wilder was a retired licensed practical nurse.
Other survivors include sons, Grant Blanton of Hutchinson, Louis Blanton of Wichita;
daughters, Barbara Williams of Hutchinson, Maxine Clark of Farmington, Ark., Joyce Reboul of Arlington;
51 grandchildren; 153 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice of Reno County.

Paul Ashcraft

Paul E. Ashcraft, 60, Wichita, died Tuesday, Oct. 1. He was the brother of James Ashcraft of Augusta.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington,
the Rev. Danny Ginn of the First Christian Church officiating.
Ashcraft was bom March 2, 1931, in Grenola to Myrtle (Logsdon) and Roy Ashcraft.
He was a graduate of Wellington High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Ashcraft was married to the former Virginia Reynolds. She preceded him in death.
He was a longtime Wichita resident and had been employed by the Kansas State Highway Department.
He was a member of the Tom Schwinn American Legion Post 90 in Wellington.
Other survivors include a daughter, Debbie Smith Wichita; sisters, Virginia Snodgrass of Arkansas City,
Wauneta Townsend, Vedia Roads, both of Wellington; for grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Kansas State Center for Basic Cancer Research, Manhattan.
Hawks Funeral Home, Wellington, is in charge of arrangements.
