A detective for the Independence Police Department said the death was classified as a suicide
because a note was found in the upstairs dining room of the home.
Mrs. Boyles apparently wrote about the pressures in her life and then hung herself with a rope in the basement,
according to police detective Phil Jacobs.
Det. Jacobs said family members had seen Mrs. Boyles Tuesday evening and were concerned
when she didn’t answer her phone yesterday. They went to the residence, found the note, and the body.
