Mother Dies In Wichita
Leva May Bentley, 97, Wichita, a former Augusta resident, died today at the Lincoln East nursing home there.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born July 7, 1885 in Minden, Mich., to Charles and Frances C. Powers Miller.
She married Harry Dell Bentley March 20, 1915 in Wichita. He died in 1945.
She was a former Augusta resident and a member of the Grace Nazarene Church.
Survivors include sons, Orris Butcher, Great Bend and Wayne Bentley of Haysville; daughters, Cordelia Dill of Augusta and Ellen Neel of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Father Dies
In Emporia
Roy E. Bass, 60, Wichita, father of Ronald Bass of Augusta, died Oct. 30 at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
His service was at 2 p.m. today at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Rev. A.E. Troyer and Rev. Doyle Whitesel officiated. Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery near Emporia.
He was born April 14, 1922 in Allen to Pete R. and Lela Mae Martin Bass Sr.
He married Winifred Lois Jones Sept. 10, 1941 in Emporia. She survives.
He was a modification electrician at Boeing Military Aircraft Co.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Mason and a member of the First Church of God.
Other survivors include another son, Gerald Bass of El Dorado; a daughter, Rita Stroud of Wichita; his mother, Lela Bass of Americus; brothers, Jack Bass of Americus, Irvin Bass of Anaheim, Calif., Pete Bass Jr., of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charles Bass of Wichita; sisters, Velma Brockleman of Springtown, Texas, Naomi Maxwell of Wichita, Shirley Mitchell of Blythe, Calif., Eileen Stauder of Huntington Beach, Calif., Betty Windsor of Andover, and five grandchildren.

Father Dies
In El Dorado
Don Beam, 51, El Dorado, father of Diane Owen of Augusta, died Sunday at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. R.W. McCandless will officiate. Burial will be in the Belle Vista Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born Dec. 19, 1930 in El Dorado to Merle and Helen Rhea Beam.
He married JaNean Green Aug. 24, 1952 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a pipe pumper for Getty Oil Co. He served in the U.S. Navy two years. He was a member of the El Dorado Moose Lodge and the Oil, Chemical and Automic Workers Union.
Survivors also include two other daughters, Debbie Mitchell of El Dorado and Denise Michal of Loveland, Colo.; his mother, Helen Beam of El Dorado and four grandchildren.

Lewis Butler Dies At 72
Lewis I. Butler, 72, Wichita, a retired Mobil employee, died at Augusta Medical Complex today, Nov. 3.
Services will be held at 2 p.m, Saturday, Nov. 6, at Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Butler was born June 23, 1910 to Charley F. Butler and Lavina Belle Jordon in Hutchinson. He married Vivian F. Cook Aug. 6, 1932 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a member of Mystic Tie No. 74 and Eastern Star. He retired from Mobil in 1975.
Other survivors include a son, Thomas, Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter, Kellye Adams, Wichita; sisters, Eleanor Bannon, Douglass; Ellen Johnson, El Dorado; and Pearl Chambers, Wichita; grandchildren, John and Tony Butler and Kellye Adams; and great-grandchildren, Jessica and Frank Butler.
