Father Dies In Wichita
Carrol H. Stevens, 58, Wichita, father of Cheryl Lyda of Augusta, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
Memorials have been established with the St. Joseph Medical Center oncology department and the American Cancer Society.
He was born March 27, 1924 in Lawrence, Neb., to Harvey and Blanche Klein Stevens.
He married Wilma Jean Grimm. She survives.
He was an operations analyst at Boeing Military Aircraft Co., in Wichita. She served in the military during World War II.
Other survivors include daughters, Vickie Waters of McPherson, Jill Cookson and Becky Gifford, both of Wichita; his mother, Blanche Stevens of Blue Hill, Neb.; brothers, Wendel Stevens of Blue Hill, Dr. Ronald Stevens of plainview Neb.; sister, Artis Ramey of Phoenix, Ariz., and six grandchildren.

Rites Pending For A. Belford
Alice Belford, 59, 1303 Johnson, died today at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her rites are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Belford.

Brother Dies In Wichita
Leonard L. Conner, 70, Cassoday, brother of Marlys Morgan of Augusta, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia.
A memorial has been established with the Butler County Community College.
He was born Jan. 13, 1912 in Eureka to Fermer L. and Ethel May Jones Conner.
He married Viola Feme Brickley in Rosalia March 21, 1937. She died March 7, 1979.
He was a retired jobber for Skelly Oil in El Dorado.
He was a member of the Cassoday United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Cassoday Lions Club and the Cassoday Township Board.
Other survivors include sons, Major David Conner of Hawaii and Chris Conner of Paola; his mother, Ethel May Conner of Wahiawa, Hawaii; sisters, Beryl Griffith of Moore, Okla., and Dolores Roberts and Irene Hunter, both of Baldwin City and four grandchildren.

John E. Moore, 88, Kingston, Okla., father of Ellen Williams of Augusta, died Oct. 27 in Madill, Okla.
Services were in Madill at the Church of the Nazarene.
He was born Nov. 12, 1893 in Prairie View, Ark., to John Preston and Sarah Ellen Tyner Moore.
He married Mary Ollie Lea at Madill May 22, 1914. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Alice L. Belford, 59, 1303 Johnson, died Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, Nov. 15, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Indianola Cemetery of rural Andover.
She was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Augusta as a daughter of Oscar and Clara Walls White.
On Jan. 12, 1946, she and Alfred Belford were united in marriage at Fort Smith, Ark. He survives.
Mrs. Beldon also leaves two sons — Dale who is serving with the U.S. Army in Germany and Wilfred of Augusta. A third son preceded her in death earlier this year.
Other survivors include two brothers, Woodrow White of Douglass and Thomas White of Madras, Ore.; a sister, Evelyn Miller of Wichita, and four grandchildren.
