J. Sholders Dies At AMCI
Jesse “Jack” Sholders, 79, Route 2, Augusta, died Saturday at Augusta Medical Complex.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Doyle Whitesel, pastor of First Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Sholders was born March 4, 1903, at Oblong, Ill., the son of Parmer and Stella B. Sholders. He lived at his present home since 1956, moving there from the Midian and Oil Hill area.
He was a member of the First Church of God in Augusta and of the Cities Service Retirees Club.
He married Doris Danielson Jan. 24, 1925, at Waukegan, Ill. She survives of the home.
Other survivors are a son, Gerald of Newton; daughters, Mrs. Lucille Coe of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Geraldine Lozano, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Jessie Winters, Potwin; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or to the music department at the First Church of God.

Jesse Perkins Dies At 84
Jesse A. Perkins, 84, of El Dorado, died Friday at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was the brother of Nellie Thompson of Augusta.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. The Rev. Lyle Curtis will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Perkins was born March 21, 1898, at Trenton, Neb., the son of Jesse A. and Grace Scott Perkins. He had lived in El Dorado since 1927 and in Augusta for a few years.
He was a member of Patmos Lodge 97 AF&AM and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers (OCAW) union.
Surviving are two brothers, John Perkins of Topeka, Tim of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Edith Thompson of Lost Springs, Kan., Nellie Thompson of Augusta, Elisa Moore of Henrietta, Okla., Martha Roby of El Dorado and Bessie Shatell of Wichita; one half brother, James Applegate of Sparta, Mo., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Fanny Worrell Died Thursday
Fanny K. Worrell, 79, Leon, died Thursday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. William Bullard will officiate and burial will be in the Blankinship Cemetery at Rosalia.
She was born May 13, 1903 in Latham to Charles and Mary Chipman Stokes.
She married James A. Worrell Sept. 16, 1920 in Leon. He preceded her in death in 1963.
Mrs. Worrell was a homemaker and a retired Beech Aircraft Co. employee.
She was a member of the Little Walnut Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge in Leon.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Worrell of Turnersville, N. J., Beryle Worrell of Wichita, Robert Worrell of Leon and James Worrell of Girod; three daughters, Wilma Simmons of Springfield, Mo., Mary Williams of Ponca City, Okla., and Patricia Mauk of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Porter Stokes of El Dorado; two sisters, Grace Hogan and Dot Demo, both of El Dorado; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

E.M. Martin Dies At 82
Elmer M. Martin, 82, El Dorado, brother of Aubrey Martin of Augusta, died Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Jim Spohn will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery here.
He was born Oct. 17, 1900 in Logan County, Ark., to Steven M. and Lina C. Bowers Martin.
He married Thelma Carr June 15, 1920 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a retired auto dealer. He was a co-owner of the Dodge dealership in Augusta, Arkansas City and El Dorado. He retired in 1969.
He was a member of the Douglass Christian Church.
Other survivors include another brother, Ernest Martin of El Dorado.
