Donald W. Lietzke
Donald Wesley Lietzke Sr., 80, of Augusta, died Friday, July 25, 1997, in his home.
His graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Elmwood Cemetery. Father James Mainzer will officiate.
Donald Lietzke was born May 7, 1917, in rural Augusta to Albert John and Mary Ann (Grant) Lietzke.
He married Betty Wilkinson May 2, 1946, in Wichita.
He was a retired Vulcan Chemical Company R & D employee. He also served during World War II in the 997th field artillery battalion, serving in Normandy, Rhineland and the Ardennes campaigns as a carbine sharpshooter.
Survivors are wife, Betty Lietzke of Augusta; sons and daughters-in law, Don Jr. and Johynn of Wichita and Stephen and Renee Lietzke of Dickinson, N.D.; and grandchildren Kyle and Keith Lietzke both of Wichita; Matthew, Ryan, Nicholes and Trevor Nichole and Brooke Lynne Lietzke all of Dickinson, N.D.
A memorial has been established with St. James Catholic Church Building Fund. Contributions may be sent to Hillside Funeral Home of
Augusta.
