Charlotte Baker

Charlotte L. Baker, 69, of Augusta died Sunday, Aug. 17, 997, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
Charlotte L. Baker was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Wichita to Lowell H. and Juanita (Coday) Baker.
She was a retired nurse’s aide and an active member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Survivors are brother and sister-in-law, Larry L.and Elizabeth A. Baker of Madison, Va.; Nieces and their families, Courtney Clarke, John and Evelyn of Cleveland, Ohio and Cameron and Scott Hayes of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Coleman L. Baker of Springfield, Va.; stepparents; and Lucille and Stanley Dilley of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Mary Bachtel Baker of Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice, Inc., 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS. 67202.

William E. Ross

William E. “Bill” Ross, 83, of Augusta died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997, at Augusta Medical Complex’s Long Term Care Unit.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Harv Coberley of Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church will officiate.
Bill Ross was born March 17, 1914, in Marion to James E. and Anna M. (Marer) Ross.
He married Charlotte May Lewis July 19, 1938, in
Augusta.
He was a pine liner for several oil companies before his retirement.
Survivors are wife, Charlotte Ross of Augusta; sons, Kenneth Ross of Augusta; daughters Nadine June Ross, address unknown, Joyce Thomas of Towanda, Kathy Sims of Andover and Shirley Harding and Carol Jordan both of Augusta; brothers, Charles E. Ross of Houston, Texas and Raymond Ross of El Dorado; 25 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers,
tour sister, his parents and one son.
Memorials have been established with Hospice, Inc., and the Garvin Park Stage. Contributions may be sent to Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
